Our U7 & U8 players prectice every Tuesday evening at Abbott Sports Complex with their own team and coach. Each team consists of 6-8 players per team and each team has their own head coach that will be with them at all practices and all games. All curriculum is develped by our youth director, Peter Underwood. Peter is an A licensed coach and you can read all his info below. Peter works with our coaches to ensure that the are properly training all of our youth to love the game, have knowledge of the game, and learn the necessary skills to becoming the best possible youth player they can be. All of our coaching staff is hired by Peter, and before they begin their coaching careers with us they will have to attend an educational training seminar that Coach Peter will hold prior to the season beginning. Our vision is to hire coaching staff that want to continue their education, love to work with kids and can move up in our program just like the youth players. CSA prides themselves on having licensed coaching staff in our U9 and above ages and staff that is willing to spend the time becoming licensed and working with the youth in our younger programs. If you have good trainers from the inception of your soccer career then you will learn how to play the game from start as opposed to perhaps learning or changing the way you play the game when you become older.
The cost to play in our U7 or U8 program is $110.00. This includes 8 training sessions and 7 in-house games. If your child would like additional technical training you may sign up for our Elite Training on Thursday evenings for an additional $90.00. This would be 8 additional techinical training sessions with our licensed coaching staff. Our Spring 2012 season first practice will be on Tuesday 03/27 as the first practice, and our first game will be on Sunday 04/01/2012. Registration deadline for this program is 03/01/2012. Our U9 & U10 players train every Monday and Thursday for 8 weeks and play in the ENSA league on Sunday afternoons. The number of games is based on the number of teams that enter into the league but it can be anywhere from 6-10 games per season. The schedule is usually 50% of the games played here in Lincoln and the other 50% in outside communities like Omaha, Elkhorn, Gretna or York. Players are placed on teams per requests, school divisions, and also abilities. CSA then places our teams in differnt divisions of ENSA so that the teams may play all of their games in a competitive league. Each team will consist of 10-12 players per team and the same coach will train them at both practices and games. All curiculum is developed and implented by our Youth Director Peter Underwood. Coach Peter will also work with each team individually during the season. Coach Peter has an A license and currently works at UNL on the Woman's Soccer Team as an assistant coach. More about Coach Peter can be read below. Coach Peter hires all staff for our U9 and U10 program and works with them to assist them in obtaining their licensing. We want our U9 and U10 teams to play in the most competitve environment that is best for their team, and push them to be the best players in their age group. At U11 they will tryout for teams so we make it our job to help ensure that they are ready to be placed on tryout teams at U11 and are able to play at the top premier levels. We are still accepting applications for our U9 and U10 competitive travel teams coaching staff. Currently we have hired Rudy Wagner to be one of our U10 girls coaches and Paul Smith to be one of our U10 boys coaches. Both Paul and Rudy have their National D license and Youth National Diplomas. They have both been coaching for over 20 years at CSA in our select program. Most recently Rudy coached the U18 girls and the U18 boys. 22 out of 26 of his seniors received scholarships to the following list of schools - Creighton, Oregon State, UMKC, Drake, Hastings, Doane, Concordia, UNL, Wayne State, and MIdland just to name a few. He also coached Mayme Conroy who is the 2011 Nebraska Gatorade Female Player of the Year, and Shane Davidson who is the 2010 National Coaches All American Soccer Team. If you would like to learn more about our staff or would like to become a coach for CSA please contact Jackie in the office.
The cost to play for our U9/10 teams is $210.00. This may be made in 2 payments. The initial deposit with your registration would be $110.00 and the balance of $100.00 due by March 1st, 2012. To register for our U9/10 program click here to download the pdf registration.
