Capital Soccer Association


As a club, we want to make sure we're giving all of our players, and families the best experience(s) possible. Thus, we feel having a quality staff is paramount to complete this to all of our members. Our staff includes nearly a 100% success rate with having multiple coaching licenses from varoius organizations, along with ample hours of on field training experience, and lastly a diverse playing experience.

Alex Scheuler, Director of Coaching

Alex Scheuler joined Capital Soccer Association in 2012, after three years of coaching at Waverly High School in Nebraska. In his fifth year with CSA, Alex was awarded the 2017 Nebraska State Soccer Association Boys Competitive Coach of the Year.  He currently holds his USSF C National License along with NSCAA youth diplomas.  Alex earned his bachelor’s degree from Doane College in Lincoln in Organizational Communications and holds a minor in Business Administration from Cloud County Community College in Kansas. Alex also played collegiate soccer at Cloud City Community College, where he started and was featured prominently in every match. He was team captain his Sophomore year, and during this time he also got his first taste of coaching. While his head coach was on recruiting trips during the spring of his Sophomore year, Alex ran practice sessions for both the men’s and women’s teams, while still a college player himself. In high school, Alex was a four-year starter and letter-winner at Waverly. In addition to being a four year starter, Alex was team captain for two years, first-team all-conference for three years, and all-state honorable mention for two years. At the time of graduation, Alex was in the top 10 all-time in career starts at Waverly. Growing up near Lincoln, Alex played for several clubs, including Capital. Alex is an energetic coach and coaches his teams with passion, which stems from his love for the game as a player. For the 2020-21 soccer year, Alex will Head coach the 05B Gold Academy and the 08B Gold team. In Feb of 2020, Alex was hired on to be the first Men's Soccer Coach in program history at Southeast Community College in Beatrice. 

Edward Meitzen
Edward began coaching for Capital in the fall of 2017, but has been coaching since 2013 for various clubs around Lincoln prior to joining CSA. He grew up in Lincoln and as a former player played for Capital Soccer from 1996-2000. As a player, Ed played for Doane College in Crete, after playing four years at Lincoln Southeast High School. Ed currently holds his US Soccer D License, and will be obtaining additional licensing to further his coaching knowledge and develop our players at CSA for years to come. For the 2020-21 soccer year, Ed is slated to be head coach of the 03/04B Gold Academy II team, co-coach on the 09B Gold team with Philip Yapp, and on standby for any other teams that form for the year. Ed is also currently our club president in addition to his coaching roles within the club. Outside of Capital Soccer, Ed holds several other coaching roles in the area. He currently is a assistant coach at Southeast Community College, in Beatrice, NE, is a staff coach for Dakota ODP soccer, and also is the Lincoln North Star Varsity Girls Head Coach.


Phillip Yapp
Phillip has been coaching for Capital Soccer Association for more than 10 years. During his career he has coached seemingly all ages for both boys and girls. Phil currently holds his USSF D License. Phil is currently an assistant coach at Waverly High School in Waverly, Nebraska and has assisted growing the soccer program in Waverly for the past 3 years. Growing up in Jamaica, Phil received an offer to play at Concordia University in New York, prior to beginning his coaching career. Phil brings high energy to sessions and has coached at various high schools in the Lincoln area, thereby promoting connections with many well-established programs. For the 2020-2021 soccer year, Phil will head coach the 09B Gold team, and co-coach the 2011 boys team. Along with being on standby for other various programs. 

Jeremiah Majorins

Jeremiah comes back to Capital to coach in 2019-2020, for his second stint with the club as a coach. Jeremiah has a history in Lincoln both as a player and a coach, as he played at Nebraska Wesleyan for one year before the majority of his career was played at Concordia University in Seward, Ne. His college career began after a storied career as a player at Lincoln Lutheran High School. He was a 3 time letter winner at Lincoln Lutheran, helped the team to win three District Championships, and all of those titles were followed up by three State Semifinal appearances. During this time, he was also a club player with Capital, furthering his development as a player. During his time away from Capital, Jeremiah coached in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, for FW Sport Club- where he worked with both boys and girls teams in their academy and select programs. Jeremiah currently holds his US Soccer D National License, and is the Boys Soccer Head Coach at Lincoln Lutheran High School. For the 2020-2021 soccer year, Jeremiah is slated to head coach the 2010 Boys Gold team, and the 05B Gold Academy II team along with assisting the 05B Gold Academy 1 group. 
Dakheel Sulaiman
Dakheel, or better known as "Coach Khee" joined the Capital staff in October 2019. Dakheel is a coach who is very well traveled before coming to Capital. Khee grew up abroad, born in the middle east and then moved to Germany when he was a young lad. This background helped shap his unique soccer background and knowledge on the game. Khee is a very insightful coach, is very soft spoken but wants to allow his players to grow from their own discovery and challenges within the game. While in Nebraska, Coach Khee has featured for Bugeaters FC, as an attacking player. He is also is a very active member in the Yezidi soccer community working to get those players playing more and more soccer, and develop on and off the field. For the 2020-2021 soccer year, coach Khee will be floating around as a staff coach, to help with various groups. Khee currently holds his US Soccer Grassroots Coaching licenses, and will be pursuing further education in the coming years.   

David Cook
David began coaching for Capital during the 2018-2019 soccer year. David grew up in Lincoln, NE and had a very successful playing career before hopping into coaching. As a player, David played for Capital soccer for over 12 years, won a State Cup Championship as a player along with being a 2x runner up. As a high school player at Lincoln East, he was a four year letter winner and starter on a team that made four straight state tournament appearances including a 24-0 record and state championship for Lincoln East in 2010. The following year, David was team captain in 2011 leading his team as a Senior. As a coach, David is a very knowledgeable coach who loves being around players and working with them on a daily basis. David has worked in several roles at the club so far, including but not limited to 05B Gold and 05B Red Assistant coach, micro coach, and most recently moved into a co-coaching role with Andrew Ashleford with the 2010/2011 boys teams for the remainder of the 2019-2020 soccer year. David holds several grassroots coaching licenses and will continue to obtain further licensing in the coming year as well. In the 2020-2021 soccer year, David is slated to assist the 05B Academy teams, along with the 2010 Boys Gold select team. 

Jeff Peterson
Jeff joined the Capital Staff six years ago, when he started working in the micro program and youth academy, under Jeremy Kester. During this period, Jeff was influential in many players developmental successes, when beginning their soccer careers. Many of these players he developed are still with us today, and having great successes with the club. Jeff is a current board member, and has been for over the past 2 years- making his impact on the club even greater each day. Jeff currently holds his US Soccer E license, and can often be seen coaching his teams, with two of his little shadows (his sons) trailing him at every move. Jeff plans to expand his coaching knowledge by furthering his coaching education experiences during the summer of 2019 as well to give back to the players he works with every day. Jeff is a former graduate of Kearney High, and while attending he participated on some of the first ever soccer teams Kearney fielded at the High School level. Jeff will be leading the charge for the 05B Red team this upcoming year, as they boys begin to prep for HS soccer and beyond. 

Jeremy Kester 
Jeremy joined Capital Soccer Association in 2011 and has been highly influential in the development and growth of the club in that time. He began as youth staff coach, then became the youth director in 2013, and served as director of coaching from 2015 to 2017. During the 2017-2018 soccer year, Jeremy will serve as the Academy Youth Coordinator (ages U8-U10), furthering his positive contributions to the club. Currently, Jeremy holds his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, along with a USSF E License. He grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and played for Lincoln Southeast High School and CSA. In college, Jeremy played for Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Jeremy will be be a HS academy training coach this year, along with assist many other select teams on an as needed basis. Jeremy will primarily will be working within the youth ranks for 2019-2020, but not immune from popping into various select teams from time to time. 

Jose Hidalgo
Jose comes to Capital Soccer Association in May of 2020. Jose is a rising star in the coaching world in Lincoln. He holds many US Soccer Grassroots coaching diplomas, and is currently the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Lincoln Northeast High School in Lincoln. Jose, was a former student and player at Lincoln Northeast, growing up in Lincoln. Jose plans to further his coaching education in the coming years at Capital, both on and off the pitch. For the 2020-2021 soccer year, Jose will be working with many of our select groups in both an Asst coaching capacity and will head coach a select team or two as well. In the Youth, he will co-coach the 2011 Boys group in tandem with Phillip Yapp. 

Tyler Boller

Tyler joined Capital Soccer Association around the turn of 2020. Tyler is a very bright rising mind in the coaching world. He is a very sharp young mind, and at just 21 has led both training sessions and games both with great success. Tyler comes to Capital after playing at Midland Lutheran University in Fremont, and completing his High School playing career as a 4 year starter at Beatrice, with numerous State and Conference honors as a player. He plans to further his coaching education through both US Soccer and United Soccer coaches in the coming years. Tyler is slated to work with both of our 08B groups, leading our 08B second team and assisting our 08B top team in the 2020-2021 soccer year. Tyler will also be seen helping the club at various camps, and other sessions on an as needed basis- as he's great with many different age groups.
